The painting's composition seemed wrong to me - the focal point was too centred, and there wasn't anything I could do with the empty left side. So I decided to cut the painting down and re-stretch it. A little drastic, but I couldn't figure how else to correct the problem.
We visited an art centre in the country outside Calgary ... the views of the big sky, valley and mountains were just amazing. The fields were covered in dandelions, and the girls picked bouquets of them and stuck them in their baby sister's hat.
